Back in June, I uploaded a track + video called, ‘Steal’ to YouTube. I forgot to upload it here :O You won’t find the track on Spotify, but it is available to listen/or purchase on Bandcamp.
“Steal” is an instrumental bonus track I produced, recorded, and performed. It was mixed by Magoo aka Dr Goo and was written and recorded at my home late last year. Originally, it was a full lyric/song but I decided to strip away the vocals and keep the guitar, bass, and guitar parts to make it more of a reflective guitar journey. If gota cola* was alive today, I would have probably brought it into the band room for my lovely band mates to make something better of it. But there you go. 🙂
I shot the video using an iPhone on a train journey up to central Queensland earlier this year. I also edited the clip on my phone….so quality isn’t great. It was a bit of a challenge shooting the footage solo, but I got there. I edited the clip on my bed while recovering from a Fibromyalgia flare-up; the editing work done lying in my bed was distracting because it allowed me to still remain creative while in a flare-up.

*Incidentally, 2021 is the 20th anniversary of Gota Cola’s 20th anniversary “Guaranteed Rustless” on Valve/Warner. In that year, “Sighing”, “Wavelength’s Phase”, “Eddy” and “Rabbits” were gota cola’s most played tracks from the album on 4zzzfm. The band also played three live songs from their debut self-titled EP on the AusMusic show in 2000 amongst a busy tour schedule. (Tracks performed: Eddy, Sighing, Vinyl Car)
